On August 28, athletes, entertainers, creators, founders, investors and brand leaders gathered in the Hamptons for Fame to Fortune, a one-day summit hosted by Michael Loeb and Uncharted. HYTON worked alongside the Uncharted team and Justin Barth of PARENTHESIS to bring the event together.

A great event is defined by more than who shows up.

It is defined by why they are there, who they meet and what can happen as a result.

That thinking shaped HYTON’s involvement in Fame to Fortune, held at Michael Loeb’s home in Southampton, New York.

The idea was straightforward: bring together people with influence, ideas, capital, operating experience and access, and give them a genuine reason to connect.

The result was a gathering of 539 attendees, including 500 members and 39 partners, spanning brands, capital, talent teams, media and talent.

For HYTON, the work began well before guests arrived.

BUILDING THE RIGHT ROOM

Fame to Fortune brought together athletes, entertainers, creators, founders, investors, operators and brand leaders. That mix was deliberate.

HYTON used its network across Consumer, Hospitality and Sports to help shape the audience and bring additional talent, founders, investors, operators and brand leaders into the room. More than 40 attendees came through HYTON’s network.

The wider audience reflected the same mix. Among Uncharted members in attendance, 31% represented brands, 29% capital, 14% talent teams, 14% media and 12% talent.

The goal was not simply to add names to a guest list. It was to bring together people who would have a genuine reason to meet.

A founder could meet an investor. An athlete or creator considering ownership could speak with an experienced operator. A brand leader could connect with people able to create value beyond a traditional endorsement.

The programming reflected that range, with speakers including Rich Kleiman, Naomi Osaka, Georgios Frangulis, Adam Wexler, Miles Chamley-Watson and Ashlyn Harris, among others.

The value was in the mix.

CREATING PARTNERSHIPS WITH PURPOSE

A strategic partner should add something to the experience, not simply appear on a backdrop.

HYTON brought Redpoint Advisors, Yahoo, IM8 and Fontainebleau Las Vegas into Fame to Fortune, with each contributing in a different way.

Redpoint Advisors brought its team’s CIA experience into the programming through a “How to Be a Hard Target” panel.

Yahoo conducted live interviews throughout the event with talent and executives in the room, including HYTON founder Robert Jakobi. Featured interviews included Eric Decker, Jessie James Decker, Kyle Rudolph and Torry Holt.

IM8 created a mocktail bar using its Daily Ultimate Essentials powder, bringing the product naturally into the guest experience.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas extended its involvement beyond the event, offering attendees complimentary memberships to The Poodle Room.

Four brands. Four different contributions. Each partnership was built around what that brand could bring to the event and the people in the room.

That distinction matters.

The question is not only who should be associated with the event. It is how the partnership can make the experience better.

FROM INFLUENCE TO OWNERSHIP

One of the main conversations at Fame to Fortune was the shift from endorsement to investment and ownership.

Athletes, entertainers and creators have traditionally created value for businesses through visibility and promotion. Increasingly, they are also becoming founders, investors, owners and strategic partners.

They can bring far more than an audience. They may understand distribution and community, open new markets, or bring relationships and cultural relevance that are difficult to replicate.

When that is combined with experienced founders, investors and operators, the opportunity can go well beyond a traditional endorsement. Fame to Fortune was designed to make more of those conversations possible.

FROM INTRODUCTION TO OPPORTUNITY

Getting the right people into the same place is only the beginning.

Throughout the day, HYTON made introductions and connected people where there was a genuine reason for them to know one another. Some conversations had an immediate business context. Others did not need one.

That is often how the most valuable relationships begin.

An introduction can become an investment. A conversation between a founder and an operator can reveal a new opportunity. A brand can become a strategic partner. A relationship formed around one business can create value somewhere completely different later on.

The value of Fame to Fortune cannot therefore be measured only by what happened on August 28. It is also found in the relationships and conversations that continue afterwards.

WHAT HYTON BROUGHT

For HYTON, Fame to Fortune brought several parts of our business together in one place.

Audience. Talent. Brands. Relationships. Execution.

We helped shape the audience and talent in the room, with more than 40 attendees coming through our network. We also brought Redpoint Advisors, Yahoo, IM8 and Fontainebleau Las Vegas into the event as strategic partners, creating a role for each that made sense.

Redpoint brought its expertise to the programming. Yahoo created live interview opportunities. IM8 put its product directly into the guest experience. Fontainebleau Las Vegas extended the relationship beyond Southampton through complimentary Poodle Room memberships.

Throughout the day, HYTON also helped facilitate introductions among people who had a reason to know one another.

Those pieces work together. A brand partnership is more valuable when the right audience is in the room. An introduction matters when there is genuine alignment. Talent can play a more active role when there is an opportunity to invest, build or own. An event becomes more valuable when the relationships created there continue.

This is very similar to how we work across HYTON. We spend much of our time bringing together people and businesses from different parts of our network where we believe there is a genuine opportunity to work together.

Fame to Fortune gave that approach a physical setting.

MORE THAN A ONE-DAY EVENT

The best events create momentum beyond the day itself.

Fame to Fortune was one moment within a broader relationship between HYTON and Uncharted, and a shared interest in bringing together people capable of building, investing in and growing businesses.

For HYTON, that relationship reflects something we see across Consumer, Hospitality and Sports: the roles of founder, investor, talent, brand and strategic partner increasingly overlap.

The opportunity comes from understanding where people can genuinely help one another. That only works when the audience is considered, the partners make sense and the people in the room have a reason to connect.

That was the thinking behind HYTON’s contribution to Fame to Fortune.

New relationships were formed. Existing relationships became stronger. Business conversations moved forward. And the connections made in Southampton created opportunities to continue those conversations well beyond August 28.

That is ultimately the measure that matters.

Not simply how many people were in the room.

What happened because the right people were there.

THE RELATIONSHIP CONTINUES

Fame to Fortune was not intended to be the end of the conversation.

HYTON and Uncharted continue to explore opportunities to bring together founders, investors, operators, talent, brands and strategic partners in ways that can create value beyond a single event.

For us, that is where the work becomes most interesting.

The event creates the moment.

The relationships create what comes next.
